🍎 VBP Culinary Scholarship

The VBP Culinary Scholarship is named in honor of my late beloved mother, Velma Bridges-Porter, a passionate educator who believed in empowering scholars with opportunities to excel through education.

Mrs. Bridges-Porter devoted over 18 years to teaching in the Detroit Public Schools System, where she inspired countless students to strive for excellence and purpose.

Her life’s motto, “Each One, Teach One,” continues to guide the mission of this scholarship—providing aspiring culinary students with the support, encouragement, and resources they need to pursue their dreams and make a meaningful impact in their communities.
